What we collect, and why
We take only what a given task needs. Nothing here is sold. A purpose we did not tell you about is not a purpose we will use the data for.
Public directory
Company name, city, state and business category may appear in the member directory. Phone, email and full address appear only when that member has switched the matching consent on. PAN, GST and date of birth are never public.
Membership applications and the member portal
An application collects the business and contact details the membership desk needs to review eligibility, plus the publication choices the applicant ticks. Private identity records stay in a separate store and are not joined into a public query. Member sign-in uses the mobile number on that record and a one-time code. The code is sent to that number, or to the registered email if WhatsApp cannot deliver it, and expires in ten minutes.
Enquiries and grievances
The contact and grievance forms collect the name, email, message and any phone number you type, so the association can reply. Each form requires a consent tick for that reply.
Partner and escalation registrations
After member login, the partner forms collect a company name, the person submitting, and any helplines, service-centre addresses or named escalation contacts they send. Helplines and branch addresses may be published if an officer lists the brand. Named people on the escalation ladder are shown only to signed-in members. A submission is not published automatically.
Optional newsletter
A site popup may ask for a name and mobile number. It is not mandatory. Closing it, or choosing “Not now”, does not limit the rest of the site. If you submit it, NECTA uses those two fields to send association updates. You can withdraw by writing to the office contacts above.
Visit count and offline cache
If you press Allow on the privacy bar, this browser may keep a one-year visit cookie so the homepage counter does not count the same person twice, and may store an offline cache of public pages. Necessary only still shows the current total; it does not add this browser and does not register the public cache. You can change that choice from Cookie choices in the footer.
Payments
Payment requests sit behind a signed-in member session. The public site does not publish bank account details or a scannable payment instrument.
Consent
Consent for optional processing is free, specific and can be withdrawn. Using necta.co.in is not conditional on the newsletter, the visit cookie, or the offline cache. Withdrawal does not undo a reply we have already sent or a membership record we are required to keep.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 on the public forms.
Where it is stored
Records are held so the site and the membership desk can operate. The website is hosted on a server that may be outside India. Processors we use — hosting, and any email or WhatsApp service that sends a message we have asked them to send — see only what that task needs.
How long we keep it
Newsletter details stay until you withdraw, then for a short office record of that withdrawal. The visit cookie expires after one year. Applications, member files, partner registrations and grievances are kept for the association’s record of the relationship or the complaint, and no longer than that work requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask NECTA for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, for a correction or erasure where the Act allows it, to withdraw a consent you gave, and to nominate someone to act if you cannot. Start with the office contacts above or the contact form. If we cannot settle a privacy complaint, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects how we use personal data already collected, we will update this page and the date at the top.
